Cookie policy
What we use cookies for, which ones are optional, and how to refuse them without losing access to anything.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a site asks your browser to store, so that it can recognise a return request. Similar technologies — local storage, pixels and URL parameters — do comparable jobs and are covered by this policy.
2. Our approach
Only strictly necessary items are used without your agreement. Analytics and affiliate attribution require an explicit opt-in. Declining takes a single click, restricts no content, and is not followed by repeated prompting. The “decline optional” control in our notice is given equal prominence to “accept all”, because consent obtained by design pressure is not consent.
3. Categories we use
3.1 Strictly necessary — always on
These make the site work and cannot be switched off. They cover security, load balancing, your light or dark theme choice, and your 19+ age confirmation. On this site the theme and age confirmation are held in ordinary page memory rather than written to persistent storage at all, and they are discarded when you close the tab. No necessary item is used to profile you or to advertise to you.
3.2 Analytics — optional, off by default
If you accept, we record aggregate statistics: which pages are read, which tables and links are used, how far readers scroll, and which reviews readers return to. We use it to decide what to rewrite and re-verify first. We do not attempt to identify individual readers from it.
3.3 Affiliate attribution — optional, off by default
If you accept and then follow a link to an operator, an identifier may record that the referral came from SlotScroll so the operator can attribute any commission due. It records the referral event, not what you do inside the operator's site. Refusing this category does not change the offer you receive from the operator, and does not restrict any content here.
3.4 Advertising and cross-site tracking — not used
We do not run display advertising on this site, and we do not set third-party advertising or social-media tracking cookies for behavioural profiling.
4. Third parties that may set or receive data
- Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google's font CDN, which receives your IP address in order to serve the files. This is necessary to render the site as designed.
- Our hosting provider — processes standard server request data on our behalf.
- Affiliate networks and operators — receive referral information only when you choose to follow an outbound link and only where you have accepted attribution.
Once you arrive at an operator's site, that operator's cookie and privacy policies apply, not ours.
5. Changing or withdrawing your choice
- Use “Manage preferences” in the cookie notice to see the categories and choose between them.
- Choose “Decline optional” to keep only the strictly necessary items.
- You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings — every major browser allows blocking all cookies, blocking third-party cookies, or deleting existing ones. Blocking everything may affect how some pages display, but all editorial content on this site remains readable.
- You can also withdraw consent later by clearing cookies for this site, which resets your choice.
6. Legal basis
Strictly necessary items are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure site. Analytics and affiliate attribution are used only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. See our privacy policy for how the resulting information is handled, retained and protected, and for your access, correction and deletion rights.
7. Changes
If we add a category or a third party, we will update this page and re-request consent where the law requires it.
